Community Food Drive!

Updated: Dec 1, 2020

This #GivingTuesday we are launching our Community Food Drive for the month of December!

Yoga isn't just asana.

You may have heard of the "eight limbs of yoga". Many of these limbs are internal, mental and emotional practices that are often encouraged in yogis long before the journey into asanas (physical postures).

One of these limbs represents the five "yamas", which are social restraints and ethical principles that we take with us off of the mat. The yamas are meant to guide our interactions within our community and influence how we treat others.

The five yamas are: 1. Ahimsa (non-violence) 2. Satya (truthfulness) 3. Asteya (non-stealing) 4. Brahmacharya (moderation of the senses/right use of energy) 5. Aparigraha (non-greed)

What better way to incorporate the yamas, particularly brahmacharya and aparigraha, into our lives than to donate to our community food drive!

Beginning today, December 1st, we will have two donation boxes at the studio, one for each county's food bank. Since we are located near the border of Berks and Chester counties, we want to help as many of our neighbors as we can! Bring your donations to class, or text Caitlin for contact-less drop off outside the front door prior to class times! (Please be mindful of the weather and do not leave items out in precipitation - 484-284-0426).

Head on over to @helpingharvest and @chestercountyfoodbank to view lists of recommended items! 🙏🏼

Feel free to contact us with any questions, or visit the food bank sites online!

With love & light, Caitlin
